My 1st radio interview - The World Famous Wake Up Show w/ Sway & King Tech

Back in ‘o8 me the brothas Uptown Swuite and DJ Flow decided to drop a track for this competition called the 100K Battle, hosted by The Wake Up Show. Now if you grew up in the Bay listening to 106 KMEL in the early 90’s, then you know that The Wake Up Show was proving ground for up and coming Hip Hop artists to come a show BARS and was also the spot for exclusive shit that was dropped by cats that were killing the game at the time.

Legends came and blessed The Wake Up Show.. Eminem, Biggie, Common, Xzibit, Jay-Z, Nas, Lauren Hill, Meth and Red. shit even a young KanYe came with his late mother to drop verse. (yea his mom was spittin too!)

LUCKLY, from the hundreds and thousands of cats that submitted tracks for this competition OUR TRACK was selected to be part of the Top 10 to receive the honor to come on the show and get interviewed with Sway and King Tech.

WE WERE GASSED YO!! I mean, I grew up listening to the mixtapes of freestyles from cats like Juice, Eyedea, Rass Kass, Mos Def, Kweli and Em to NOW being on same World Famous Wake Up Show!?!? ..nuts.

When we got there and stepped into the room, it had this weird ambiance. Kinda eerie but nothing bad; just kinda crazy to look at those mics and KNOW that the cats that helped evolve Hip Hop culture, blessed those SAME mics.

So we did the interview, and the policy with the Wake Up Show is that everybody that gets on show, has to rep with a verse and spit it live. I’ll be honest, I’M NOT RAPPER so I was nervous as FUCK and you can see it when you watch the video.. but when that Jake One beat dropped, it was on. I did what I did best! That feeling and being there at that moment of time was priceless..

..One of the highlights of my music career for sure.
